Chris Finch will not train against Spurs due to illness

Minnesota The Timberwolves will face the San Antonio Spursbut they will not have one of the key personnel to help them during the match. He is not a player, but he is the head coach Chris Finchwho is coping with illnessaccording to Brett Siegel of Clutch Points.

“The Timberwolves say head coach Chris Finch will not practice tonight due to illness. In his place, assistant coach Micah Norrie will be the head coach,” Siegel wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

This is not new territory for Norrie, as he served as the Timberwolves’ acting head coach in the first round of the 2024 playoffs against the Phoenix Suns as Finch was recovering from a knee injury. There shouldn’t be many changes for the Timberwolves with Norrie taking over the game, but it won’t be an easy matchup.

The Spurs have been one of the better teams in the league this season and play well on both sides of the ball. The Timberwolves have also played well this season and are currently 25-14 in fourth place in the Western Conference.

Anthony Edwards continues to keep the Timberwolves afloat, but Julius Randle has also been a consistent scoring option alongside him.

Things won’t get any easier for the Timberwolves over the next few games as they play the Spurs, Milwaukee Bucks, Houston Rockets and Spurs again. They have shown they can beat some of the best teams in the league this season, and it will be interesting to see if they plan to make any moves before the trade deadline.
