Chris Gutterup reacts to advice from Austin Reeves, Blake Griffin

Chris Gotterup continues his meteoric rise as he recently won his fourth PGA Tour title at the WC Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale, Arizona.
Gotterup beat Hideki Matsuyama in the sudden-death playoffs, marking his second win of the year. It also moved him ahead of world number one Scotty Scheffler at the top of the money list, with Gotterup earning around $1.7 million at the WC Phoenix Open.
While the 26-year-old Gotterup doesn’t need any advice on the way he plays, he does still received some of two other Oklahoma products: Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves and former NBA star Blake Griffin.
“Just keep doing what you’re doing. (Getting) two wins out of three tournaments is pretty special,” Reeves said in a video posted by the PGA Tour on X.
“Whatever you do, don’t listen to us,” Griffin added.
Gotterup said he is aware that Reaves and Griffin play golf, and appreciates their support.
“It’s funny. It’s great. Both of them were actually talking to me and stuff, so it’s cool,” Gotterup said.
“Even though I went to OU for one year, I feel like I went there all four (years).”

Gotterup added that Reaves “got the game” and expressed his desire to play with him one day. He also gave credit to Griffin’s swing.
Gotterup continues to climb the rankingsknocking off top names in major tournaments, underscoring his status as one of golf’s most exciting young players.
When NBA guys notice you, you know you’re doing something right.
