Chris Haines wonders if another shoe will drop after the bombshell discovery

After a harsh report by Fr Los Angeles Lakers the governor Ginny Bass’ relationship with LeBron James made public, what’s the next shoe to drop, NBA insider Chris Haynes wonders. An ESPN feature included sources pointing to a potential 2022 trade Buss later tried to back off, in the middle of LeBron’s story portraiture like she didn’t appreciate how things changed after James arrived in 2018.

The timing of Buss’ recent appearance on ESPN, three weeks before the NBA trade deadline, is intriguing and suggests that it is setting the stage for a big move or announcement from the Lakers, as Haynes noted, according to Basketnews.com.

“I just wonder, ‘Why now?'” Haynes said. “And if it’s ‘why now,’ usually when things like this start leaking, something is going to collapse. I don’t know what it is, but that’s usually how it works.”

Following the ESPN feature, Buss issued a statementaccording to Sam Amico of the Athletic.

“It’s really not right, with all the great things LeBron has done for the Lakers, that he has to be dragged into my family drama,” Jeannie Bass said. “To say it wasn’t appreciated is just not true and completely unfair to him.”

NBA insider Chris Haynes has good reason to believe the Lakers could be on the verge of making a major move.

Lakers governor Jeannie Bass considered trade All-Star LeBron James to Clippers in 2022, according to ESPN’s Baxter Holmes.

“Team sources say Ginny has privately railed against LeBron James’ excessive influence in the organization, even considered trading him in 2022 and believed James wasn’t grateful enough to the team that drafted his son Brony in 2024,” Holmes wrote. “Jeanie was privately angry at what she felt was his lack of accountability and the way James would shift the blame to others after the Westbrook trade, the people said.”

“In 2022, after the Westbrook trade, multiple people said that Ginny was privately considering not giving James a contract extension, and later that year, even trading James to the LA Clippers was a possibility. (This was before James was hit with a no-trade clause in July 2024 after signing a new two-year, $104 contract.)”

The NBA trade deadline is February 5.
