Chris Paul officially announces the end of his career!
Traded to the Raptors at the trade deadline, Chris Paul has just been officially announced by the Canadian franchise. And he announced that it was simply the end of his career!
“It’s over!” After more than 21 years, I am moving away from basketball » writes on his Instagram account. “As I write this, it’s hard to really know how I feel, but for once – and most people would be surprised – I don’t have an answer lol! But most of all, I’m filled with immense joy and gratitude! Even though this chapter as an “NBA player” is over, basketball will forever remain in the DNA of my life. NBA more than three decades in my life. It’s been more than three decades. Crazy to say that, it’s been an incredible blessing, because I understand that leadership is hard and you won’t like it.
Two Olympic gold medals, but no NBA title
A message that clearly reflects what will therefore remain the final chapter of his career, this return to the Clippers ended with his dismissal from the team when it was considered too negative…
The “Point God” hasn’t changed since his arrival in the NBA, a moth who played with increased competitiveness. “One of those guys whose toys were stolen when they were kids” Gregg Popovich joked.
The future Hall of Famer will therefore never win the title he was chasing, but he will be a 12-time All-Star, 11-time All-NBA team member, 9-time All-Defensive Team member, six-time NBA season stealer and five-time passer. He was also voted Rookie of the Year for the 2005/06 season.
With the USA team, he won two Olympic gold medals, in Beijing (2008) and London (2012), as well as a bronze medal at the 2006 World Championships.

And most of all, the ones I’ve been taught by the people I’ve had the chance to meet through basketball. To all my teammates, coaches, staff members, managers and especially my family. I can’t thank you enough…but the good news is that now I’ll have time to start doing a lot more!” he concludes.
