Christian Brown gives $125 million to the Nuggets

The transfer of Michael Porter Jr. this summer, traded for Cameron Johnson, not only changed the face of Denver’s top five. First of all, it allowed Nuggets to recover a small financial margin, they are immediately used to lock in one of their young executives: Christian Brown.
At the dawn of the final season of his rookie contract, the quarterback signed a five-year, $125 million extension, committing him to the franchise until 2031!
The 2022 NCAA champion with Kansas, then the 2023 NBA champion, Christian Brown gradually gained momentum until he took the starting spot vacated by Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.
A rise in power that allowed him to get a good contract, even if he had to revise his ambitions downwards: thus he pushed an envelope similar to Jalen Suggs ($150 million over five years). The compromise found remains significant, with a progressive salary: 21.5 million in 2026/27, up to 28.4 million in 2030/31.
