Christian Wood calls out “casual” after seeing the jersey

It’s fair to say that Christian Wood he didn’t have the greatest career in the NBA. However, even reaching arguably the toughest league in the world requires a lot of talent and constant work, and while Wood last played in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2023-24 seasonhe continued to make an impact during his eight years in the league.

That’s exactly what the 30-year-old pointed out to X user when he was harassed after a fan was seen wearing his shirt at an event. Wood wore number 35 throughout his career, with the fan in question seen wearing a Houston Rockets jersey.

“Nah, Christian Wood’s jersey in the wild is crazy 😂,” the user originally wrote on X over the video, with the video showing an array of jerseys worn by fans, including those of Chris Paul, Lonzo Ball and Sheddon Sharpe.

The tree, however, was strike back quickly on a lighter note, even calling out the original poster for being ‘casual’.

“Why is that crazy? I was hard, especially on rockets.. casual.. bro respect,” Wood wrote, clearly demanding more respect for his accomplishments in the league.

And it seems to be justified. Not many players end up averaging 20 points per game for an entire season, and while Wood has only done it once, he has consistently proven his ability as a lethal scorer, especially during his two seasons with the Rockets.

During that time, Wood averaged 19.1 points, 9.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while shooting a team-high 50.1% overall and 38.4% from three-point range. And while he has often been criticized for his defensive work, his ability at the other end of the pitch has never been in doubt and should command more respect from fans.

Of course, the player himself seems to be aware of that fact and was quick to hit back on social media.
