Cleveland pitcher dealing with forearm injury gets key update


The The Cleveland Guardians are hoping to get one of their relief pitchers back from injury. Hunter Gaddis is dealing with forearm tightness. The pitcher becomes a bit positive injury update from the team.

“Hunter Gaddis had a mild strain in his forearm after his spring debut Friday. He underwent imaging and ‘came back clean,'” Steven Vogt said. He will be re-evaluated Thursday and then begin his rehab, MLB.com reporter Tim Stebbins reported on X, formerly Twitter.

During the 2025 regular season, Gaddis picked up three saves for the Guardians. He also posted a 3.11 ERA for the team with two wins.

The Guardians finished the 2025 season with a record of 88-74. Cleveland made the postseason, before losing to the Detroit Tigers in the Wild Card Series.

Gaddis has established himself as a reliable reliever in Cleveland. He has played for the team since the 2022 season. Gaddis has 10 career regular season wins.

In recent weeks, Huler spoke about how he works improve.

“I’ve been focusing a lot on my body this offseason. Just trying to be in the best shape possible, going into another long season,” the reliever told MLB.com. “…I feel like I did it pretty well. Ready to go.”

The Guardians hope to reach the postseason in 2026. Cleveland is dealing with a tough distraction as closer Emmanuel Claes is serving a suspension from Major League Baseball. Klase is under investigation due to the alleged rigging of the field during matches.

Without Clase, Gaddis is one of the players expected to work a lot of innings in 2026. Cleveland also has some young prospects who could get the job. The team works with these young guns during spring trainingto be ready for Opening Day.

Cleveland opens spring training Tuesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Guardians fans hope Gaddis returns to hurling soon.
