Clippers in control in Phoenix

With James Harden out for personal reasons, the Clippers faced the Suns and were still without Devin Booker and Jalen Green. That showed in this matchup, with the Phoenix team struggling to score down the stretch. The first quarter was scattered, with a lot of technical waste. The locals saved the furniture with several winning shots, when the Californians insisted inside (20-24).

The Clippers dominated the start of the second quarter before the Suns responded strongly. Dillon Brooks starts shooting three-pointers and it is undoubtedly the best Phoenix sequence of the game (43-49).

Because after the break, Kawhi Leonard, so far clumsy and shy, present only at the free throw line, scores several baskets. Here again, Jordan Ott’s troops aren’t completely lost thanks to a few shots from beyond the arc, but they don’t seem able to shake Los Angeles (85-71).

Kobe Saunders and especially Jordan Miller then scored several baskets from distance that gave the Clippers some breathing room.

The Suns will be able to respond well here or there, there were too many things missing to hope they could topple the Clippers (93-117). Their streak of three consecutive successes therefore logically comes to an end.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

– The Clippers were serious. It was not the best match of the season, that is clear. Lots of fouls on both ends, turnovers and a 3-point fumble for the Clippers. But with 63 rebounds and 64 points, Tyronn Lue’s men did not deviate from their goal: to hurt the Suns inside. It made it possible to take control and hold it without any shaking, let alone in danger.

– Lack of points for the Suns. At 19/47 on 3-pointers and just four turnovers, Arizona’s players had the profile to have a great night. Apart from that, eaten on the bounce and cannot be counted on so hot dillon brooks that they died in the last days (7/20 during filming). The 3-pointers didn’t make a difference, they just continued to exist. Without it, the gap would have been wider and the game would have been given up much earlier.
