Clutchpoints’ Week 10 Fantasy Football list drops

With Week 10 of the NFL and Fantasy Football season here in full force, fantasy managers are adapting to the ever-changing landscape. We saw an interesting week in terms of Fantasy Football with new names emerging, depth charts changing and a steady rise to the top of the fantasy rankings.

Week 9 saw major shakeups in the NFC North, as the Green Bay Packers fell to the Panthers and the Detroit Lions lost to the Vikings. The Buffalo Bills got revenge on the Kansas City Chiefs, while the Indianapolis Colts surprisingly fell to Pittsburgh Steelers. With Week 10 of Thursday Night Football behind us and looking ahead to the weekly schedule, managers will have to make tough decisions with their rosters moving forward.

Before we get into our “list” before week 6, we’re going to be obvious NFL injury news out of the way. Packers TE Tucker Kraft suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 9. Commander’s VR Luke McCaffrey is done for the season (collarbone), while his quarterback, Jaiden Daniels, will be ruled out and considered week-to-week in avoiding a drastic injury last week.

Steelers’ KB Aaron Rodgers – Listed in 34.1% of league

Aaron Rodgers of the Steelers led his team to its biggest win of the season with a 27-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9. While the bottom line is all that matters to Rodgers, it was a poor showing for fantasy managers with just 12.12 points. The Steelers have effectively found a way to win with their defense that allows Rodgers to throw for one touchdown, a modest total of yards, and rely on the running game for the rest.

Throughout this season, Rodgers has topped 20.0 in a fantasy game just twice (WK1, WK7). Overall, he is averaging 16.2 fantasy points per game, ranking 18th among quarterbacks. With the bulk of the fantasy season approaching, it may be time to move Rodgers off the roster to provide depth at the skill positions.

Dolphins’ VR Malik Washington – Listed in 15.9% of leagues

After that Miami Dolphins‘ Strong performance against the Atlanta Falcons, many people are back on offense with all their offensive weapons all over the field. VR Malik Washington cashed in on Tua Tagovailoa’s four-touchdown performance with his only touchdown of the season so far. In Week 9, however, the Dolphins offense comes back down to Earth with Washington catching a modest three passes for 48 yards.

With his Week 8 performance of 13.6 fantasy points, it was Washington’s highest total of the season and the only time he topped 10.0 points. There are far better options like the Colts’ Alec Pierce or the Packers’ Romeo Dabb who have much more capable offenses behind them, so maybe it’s time to leave Washington and look for a spark elsewhere.

Broncos TE Evan Engram – Listed in 50.2% of leagues

Speaking of depth at the skill positions, the Denver Broncos offense has a ton of mouths to feed from a fantasy perspective, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Back Jay K. Dobbins who is already having a great year carrying the ball, VR Courtland Sutton returns as the No. 1 passing option, and VR Troy Franklin and rookie RJ Harvey are emerging as capable playmakers in their own right.

This leaves Engram in a difficult position as his ceiling will understandably be limited on a week-to-week basis. What’s more, he’s posted double-digit fantasy games just once this season, and he also posted 0 catches on three targets in Week 9. Unless this offense starts to flow in a different way and gets Engram seriously involved, he doesn’t look like a viable starter at a position that is already rare in fantasy.

Raiders’ VR Tre Tucker – Listed in 43.7% of leagues

With TE Brock Bowers returning to the Raiders and posting three touchdowns in Week 9, he immediately inserts himself as the best and most reliable target in this offense. While Tucker may have seen a dip in production when Bowers came out, it was never enough to earn him FLEX status given his usage. Tucker has also had less than 10.0 fantasy weeks over the past four games, so there isn’t much of a tendency for things to go up.

Still, the wide receiver position has been extremely volatile this season and Tucker could benefit toward the end of the season if the Raiders decide to shut down Bowers or rookie Ashton Ginty. Until then, however, it doesn’t look like Tre Tucker will be a viable fantasy starter.
