CM Punk breaks his silence on a Michael Jordan-inspired ‘magical’ entrance to the Elimination Chamber

On Saturday 28.02.2026. CM Punk defeated Finca Balor and retained the world heavyweight championship at the United Center in Chicago, IL. While his wife, AJ Lee, won the Women’s Intercontinental Title from Becky Lynch earlier in the evening, Punk’s entry and victory became the talk of the town.
Before Punk entered the arena, he was shown backstage, playing “Sirius” by The Alan Parsons Project. The song was popularly used for the NBA Chicago Bulls‘ introducing the starting line-up in the time of the NBA legend Michael Jordan. As Punk entered, so did he got a Bulls-style introduction before “Cult of Personality” is the main topic.
It later appears on Elimination Chamber after the show, punk opened in detail about a Taurus-inspired entrance. “That song, the Alan Parsons Project, obviously has a connection to the United Center as a prelude to the Bulls’ dynasty. There’s a statue of a man named Michael Jordan right there in the lobby. It was also Ricky Steamboat’s entrance during his time here at WWE.
“It’s a magical song, ladies and gentlemen, and I get chills just thinking about it and talking about it. But the best part of that entrance is these people behind me. And when I say people behind me, I mean the whole city of Chicago, because they’re always behind me,” Punk said.
After defeating Balor, Punk closed his segment celebrating with the brand new Intercontinental Women’s Champion and his wife, AJ Lee. “Second City Saint” is now scheduled to fight for Roman rule at WrestleMania 42 with his world title on the line.
