CM Punk Reveals ‘Imposter Syndrome’ After Landing Zootopia 2 Cast
Having the opportunity to partner with fellow WWE Superstar Roman Reigns in Zootopia 2 may have taken World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk by surprise.
He was talking about how he was thrown the long-awaited sequel during an interview with Busted Open Radio. Sounds like opportunity fell into his lapand he could not refuse.
“I find myself in these situations all the time where I’m just looking around like, me? When I got the call for Zootopia 2, I thought, huh? what? Disney specifically wants me? All right.“
Of course, Punk’s “impostor syndrome” kicks in when things like this come up. “There’s a little bit of imposter syndrome because I want to be like, Okay, who said no? Who are the first 13 people who said no?“
Eventually, Punk remembered that he was “good at what you do” and was able to dive into the role. It worked well, as Zootopia 2 grossed nearly $1.6 billion at the box office.
WWE are playing the roles of CM Punk and Roman Reigns in Zootopia 2
In Zootopia 2, Punk and Reigns voice Gene Zebrowski and Gene Zebraxton, better known as Zebros. They are a couple of police officers in the ZPD.
Although not a huge role, Zootopia 2 is the biggest film that Punk has done. He previously appeared in horror films such as Fury and Jacob’s Wife. He will also appear in Night Patrol, which comes out on January 16.
His career also took him to the small screen. Punk has appeared in several TV series, including Heels, Mayans MC and Revival.
Previously, Reigns worked with Disney, voicing Kizzin in an episode of Elena of Avalor. He has also appeared in films such as Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shav, The Wrong Missy, Rumble and The Pickup.
He will soon be starring in a Street Fighter movie alongside fellow WWE star Cody Rhodes. Reigns will play Akuma in the video game adaptation.
Punk and Reigns have a long history in WWE. Reigns made his main roster debut as part of The Steel, a faction that initially helped protect Punk’s WWE Championship reign. Punk and Reigns faced off (and Seth Rollins) in the main event of the first night of WrestleMania 41 years later.
