Conor Bedard, McLean Celebrini combine for historic feat last seen in 1944.

Connor Bedard and Macklin Celebrini have a lot in common. Both hail from British Columbia, were the No. 1 overall pick in the NHL draft, and cannot legally drink while in the United States. Perhaps, most importantly, they were tapped to be future sports stars. Well, the future is now.
Bedard and Celebrini in combination yes accomplish a truly remarkable feat on Tuesday, while also leading their teams to victory. They each scored three goals, marking only the second time two players under the age of 20 have scored hat tricks on the same night, according to OptaSTATS. Second time it happened? Bud Poile and Jack Hamilton went crazy for the Toronto Maple Leafs on February 19, 1944, more than a year before World War II officially ended.
These two hockey prodigies are winning the league by storm and they are already competing for the Art Ross Trophy. Celebrini secured his hat-trick in the most important moment of the game, tearing away the goal in extra time and lifting San Jose Sharks to a 3-2 win over the Utah Mammoths. He now has 30 points in just 19 games played, prompting fans to question what the 19-year-old is capable of. Of course, this is no average teenager.
Bedard, similar to Celebrini later, performed a sensational performance for the local audience. The Chicago Blackhawks the center showed exceptional touch and control in a 5-2 win against the Calgary Flames. He stunningly slotted the puck through the legs of goaltender Dustin Wolff on the run for his first goal of the night and completed his hat trick with an empty netter in the final minute. The 20-year-old has seven goals and 15 points this month.
Connor Bedard and Macklin Celebrini are making their franchises relevant again by playing with skill and composure far beyond their years. They no longer promise talent or players to watch. They have arrived and are setting up camp near the upper echelon of the NHL.
