Cooper Flagg gets help via Mavericks-Bulls-Warriors trade proposal

The Dallas Mavericks will be a team to watch closely ahead of the NBA trade deadline. Rumors suggested that Anthony Davis could trade. The Davis deal isn’t the only way Dallas could make a move, though. While speaking on his podcast, Bill Simmons suggested a three-way trade proposal between the Mavs, Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors it could lead to Cooper Flagg receiving help.
“They (the Mavericks) finally realized that Cooper Flagg, how he should try to grow his career instead of ruining it,” Simmons said. “But what if (Jonathan) Cumminga was in Chicago, Coby White to Dallas and then (Daniel) Gafford and going to Golden State. Does anyone have to get involved in that trade?
“Because the moment White came back to Chicago he kind of screwed them up, I’m not sure they need him.”
Daniel Gafford has been mentioned as a trade candidate. However, Derek Lively II could be out for significant time, which could make the Mavs hesitant to move Gafford.
If they decide to trade him, Simmons’ proposal could make sense. The Mavericks are in desperate need of point guard help, and Kobe White would be a good fit alongside Flagg. He’s only 25, too, so the Mavs could build around Flagg and White.
The Bulls would potentially be interested in additional help from the wing, which would do Jonathan Cumminga acquisition realistically. Meanwhile, Golden State probably wouldn’t mind adding a talented center via the Gafford acquisition.
Whether it’s Kobe White or someone else, the Mavericks should consider adding some point guard help.
