Cooper Flagg ‘obviously’ admitted after his first road win
With The Dallas Mavericks are going through early season strugglesthe team would eventually pick up their first win on the road against the Washington Wizards on Saturday, 111-105. After The Mavericks lost to the Memphis Grizzlies in the previous game, the team needed a win as a star rookie Cooper Flagg talked about winning.
Watching Flegg play against Washington, he would score 12 points on six-of-15 shooting from the field, with seven rebounds and six assists. In addition to being Dallas’ first road win, it was the same for Flagg in his career. who admitted that the start of the season was slow for the team, according to The Athletic.
“Things obviously haven’t gone extremely well for us so far. It’s not the start we were looking for,” Flagg said. “All we can do is stay positive and move forward and keep taking steps in the right direction.”
“I thought our execution was better for sure,” Flagg continued. “That’s something that’s going to come through experience and we’re going to kind of play together, get that chemistry down. I thought we were kind of more organized, we got to where we wanted to get to the end, and it worked out for us.”
Even looking at Flagg pre-NBA, there weren’t many losses when he was with Duke or in high school, leading the 18-year-old to make an interesting discovery/
“I think that’s the most I’ve lost since,” Flagg said after the win over Washington.
Mavericks’ Jason Kidd on Cooper Flagg learning by losing

While there was a a disastrous start for the Mavericksa win over the Wizards could trigger a change in the trajectory of the year, especially when it comes to Flagg’s development. Dallas coach Jason Kidd talked about Flagg learning through losses.
“I think you learn very quickly when you play 82 games with the best players in the world,” Kidd said. “It’s not high school. It’s not college. Lose more than six games. There are lessons to be learned. You don’t have to become a champion or one of the best players in the world. You have to adapt and understand that you’re going to lose. But you learn from defeat every time you take the floor.”
Either way, the Mavericks are 3-7 and looking to improve in the team’s next game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night.
