Cooper Flagg receives injury report for Timberwolves game

The Dallas Mavericks looking to get back into the win column as they face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. It will be the Mavericks’ first game since losing to the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday game against the Milwaukee Bucks was postponed due to extreme weather conditions. They could be short-handed, too, as could the Mavericks’ new star Cooper Flagg appeared on the injury report.
It’s Cooper Flagg officially listed as suspicious on the Mavericks’ injury report for their game against the Timberwolves, according to the NBA’s official injury page. Flagg is dealing with an ankle problem. He was originally injured during the Mavericks’ game against the Denver Nuggets on January 14, and was forced to leave the game early.
Flagg missed two games before returning against the New York Knicks on January 19. In his return, he finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, three assists and one steal in just over 27 minutes. In the last game, against the Lakers, he scored 16 points, seven rebounds, six assists and two steals in just over 34 minutes.
Flagg is one of the favorites for NBA Rookie of the Year The award, along with Charlotte Hornets wing Kon Knuepel. Flagg appeared in 43 games as a rookie, logging just over 33 minutes per game.
He averaged 18.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.3 steals while shooting 47.3 percent from the field, 28 percent from the 3-point line and 79.5 percent from the free throw line.
The Mavericks are 19-27 and had won four straight games before the loss to the Lakers. They are 11th in the Western Conference standings and two and a half games behind the LA Clippers for the 10th seed and a playoff spot.
