Cooper Flagg’s dunk brought the Dallas fans to their feet

It has become an almost nightly habit for Dallas Mavericks: Cooper Flagg filling the lane before rising gracefully for the big kick.
That’s exactly what happened in the second quarter against the New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center on Monday. After grabbing the rebound, Flagg sent the ball to Ryan Nembhard, who immediately knew what to do. He passed it back to Flag, who then rolled a jam with one hand.
It was a sight.
Flagg’s availability against the Pelicans was initially in question due to a back injury, but he was clearly able to adjust. In fact, after his big dunk, it’s safe to assume he’s feeling pretty good.
Flagg has found his groove in the past few weeks, even setting several rookie records, including a one of the stars of the Los Angeles Lakers for many years, LeBron James.
The top overall pick has repeatedly admitted he still has a lot to learn, but his veteran teammates have already praised his work ethic and mental toughness, especially for someone who just turned 19.
It helps that Flagg is surrounded by proven stars like Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson
The speedster will be a fixture for the Mavericks for years to come, and this early in his career, he’s already showing everyone that he’s going to be a problem on a nightly basis.
As of this writing, the Mavericks lead the Pelicans, 63-57, at halftime. Flagg has seven points, three rebounds, three assists and one block.
