Cristiano Ronaldo won a financial lawsuit against Juventus of 93 thousand dollars

Despite leaving the Italian football giants Juventus in 2021, Cristiano Ronaldo connection he never settled with them. After leaving Juventus, Ronaldo joined the former English clubManchester United, before leaving to join Saudi Arabian club Al-Nasr. By the time Ronaldo left Juventus, he was tied with the Italian giant in a legal battle.

As reported by Gazeta dello Sport, the legal proceedings, which began four years ago, were completed by the judge of the labor court in Turin, Gian Luca Robaldo. The verdict was handed down to Juventuswith Ronaldo keeping his earnings. The legend of Portuguese football won the lawsuit with Juventus and will no longer have to return the 9.7 million euros that the Italian club paid him during the covid period. In addition, Juventus will have to pay 80,000 euros (about $93,103) in appeal costs.

The problem began during the outbreak of COVID-19, when Juventus agreed with players on salary waivers to ease the financial impact. For Cristiano Ronaldo, the deal included a deferred payment 19.6 million euros (approximately $22 million) 2021. However, after Ronaldo soon left for Manchester United, he never received the payments. This prompted Ronaldo to file an appeal seeking almost double the amount.

About four months ago, the court and judges ruled in Ronaldo’s favor, forcing the Torino soccer team to pay him a figure of approx 10 million euros (about 11.6 million dollars). The club appealed the decision, seeking the same amount from the labor court in Turin, but the court once again ruled in favor of the icon of Portuguese football.

Ronaldo joined Juventus in 2018 and stayed at the club until 2021, scoring 101 goals in 134 appearances. He also won five trophies with the club, including two Serie A titles.
