Curry should be re-evaluated in 2 weeks amid recovery from sciatica

Seth Curryfrom entering Golden State Warriorsappeared in a total of two games, averaging seven points and 1.5 assists during that span. Curry’s season was cut short by a sciatic nerve issuewith the latest update now available on his condition.

By ClutchPoints on X, Curry was recently rated and has made positive progress in recent weeks and his condition is now due to be reassessed after a two-week period. The veteran guard, who has been sidelined for nearly a month with left sciatic nerve irritationhas progressed well enough to resume training on the field, a significant step after being limited primarily to rehab since early December.

While Curry is weeks away from being approved, the organization’s tone suggests optimism rather than concern. The timing points to a potential return after the All-Star break, with Feb. 19 emerging as a realistic checkpoint rather than a firm target.

Curry’s absence is more about lost optionality than lost production. Signed in early December to bolster his perimeter shooting, the 35-year-old has appeared in just two games since joining the Warriors despite shooting 50% from three this season.

Even in limited minutes, his profile as a career 43.3% three-point shooter explains why Golden State prioritized his passing. The move could also pay dividends in the second half of the season, with Curry closer to a return.

This comes in the midst of a tough streak for the Warriors that sees them in 8th place in the Western Conference at 27-23. Golden State has continued to rely heavily on Seth’s brother, Stephen Curry in his absence, and Jonathan Cummings has also suffered a serious injury in recent weeks, joining Jimmy Butler, who is already confirmed to be out for the season.

With the Warriors already missing multiple key men, Seth’s potential return may be cause for optimism, despite other stars missing long-term.
