Curta Cignetti’s Hoosiers are making history not seen since 1886

The Indiana Hoosiers just keep going from strength to strength. Only when you think about it Curt CignettiThe team couldn’t be more dominant, Indiana has another dominant game against a top team. The Hoosiers continued their sweep of the CFP landscape with a 56-22 victory over the Oregon Ducks to advance to the finals.
The The Hoosiers’ turnaround in the last two years under Cinetti it was nothing short of amazing. The fact that they’ve become this dominant game-breaking force makes their turnaround all the more astonishing. After their dismantling of the Ducks, Indiana became the first team since the 1886 Yale team to achieve this level of greatness.

Indiana got off to a hot start in the Peach Bowl against Oregon. Hoosiers cornerback D’Angelo Hall picked off Ducks quarterback Dante Moore on the first play of the game and returned it for a touchdown. Two more attempts by Moore in his own territory (one of which was forced by the Indiana defense) led to two more touchdowns for the Hoosiers.
The result of Indiana’s first-half explosion was 35-7 at halftime over Oregon. It was a deficit the Ducks ultimately couldn’t overcome, as The Hoosiers went to their first College Football Playoff final. This is just the latest benchmark in Cignetti’s incredible work with the program. In just two years, Cignetti turned a struggling program into one that is being talked about as one of the best teams in CFP history.
Indiana will now have a chance to end their undefeated season with a championship. The Hoosiers will meet the Miami Hurricanes in the College Football Playoff final. Miami is coming off a stunning win against the Ole Miss Rebels. Fernando Mendoza and the Hoosiers’ dominant offense will be tested against one of the best defenses in the nation.
