Dallas fans have no shortage of reaction to the AD trade
The Dallas Mavericks they had to endure the pain for over a year because they still have flashbacks Luka Dončić is traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. Fast forward to now, and the player they got in exchange for Doncic, Anthony Davis, now he’s on the move againbut this time on Washington Wizards.
There are definitely mixed reactions to this move, as some are confused, while others can’t believe they got more for Davis than Doncic.
“So you’re telling me about Dallas Mavericks got more 1. for Anthony Davis but for Luka Dončić?” one user wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
“The Mavs traded Luka Doncic and received Anthony Davis as a centerpiece. Less than a year later AD is on another team and has played in 29 games for the Mavs. Someone check on the welfare of Mav fans. Just surreal” another user wrote.
Some Mavs fans take the trade for what it is, and know it’s time to build around Cooper Flagg.
“Nothing will ever replace Luke. This experiment failed miserably. I hoped it would work, but it didn’t. Not even close. Dark times like Mavs a fan but I’m so glad it’s over. It’s time to move on.” one user wrote.
“Dude, listen… if you’re not a Mavericks fan, stay out of this trade discussion. It’s really deeper than what’s mentioned on paper. We needed flexibility more than anything to build around Flagg. Trading AD gives us that,” another user wrote.
All of this leads back to the Doncic trade and how it wasn’t a good idea to trade a top talent like him out of the blue. At this point, it looks like the Mavericks are trying to come in with a clean slate, and it makes sense after the last year they had.
