Dallas is updated on the return of Luka Doncic after a deal with the Wizards

It’s been a year since the insane blockbuster trade that rocked the world. Luka Doncic game for Los Angeles Lakerstrying to get them back to the NBA Finals. Anthony Davis played for Dallas Mavericksbut multiple injuries never allowed him to settle comfortably there. now, AD was traded to the Washington Wizardsmaking return package to Dallas they look awkward after both trades.
Max Christie, Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malachi Branham, Marvin Bagley, 3 first round picks and 3 second round picks. The Mavericks have decided that first round picks will be a priority, and hopefully those picks will help rebuild the franchise.
That core of players is not worth a generational player. Khris Middleton is averaging 10.3 points per game, his lowest since his rookie season.
Last year, GM Nico Harrison said, “Time will tell if I’m right,” after the Luke/AD trade. Well, a year later, the Mavericks are a bad team that got lucky to get the No. 1 pick and draft Cooper Flagg. They turned Luke into three potentially valuable first-round picks; however, any pick after pick 20 is a long way to becoming a star, historically.
In 2029, the Mavs received one first-round pick in the Luka/AD trade. Dallas will receive two first-round picks from the Wizards for AD Jaden Hardy, D’Angelo Russell and Dante Exum. The first-round picks are from the Thunder and Warriors, so the picks probably won’t be as great when it comes time to pick.
The NBA trade deadline is tomorrow. Keep your notifications on, because there will be many more trades to come.
