Damian Lillard reveals that Devin Booker is admitted to the 3-point contest

Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard is the 2026 Three-Point Champion. He did it despite being out this season with an Achilles tear. He was able to beat the Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker and Charlotte Hornets rookie Conn Knuepel in the championship round of the competition.
While accepting the award, the 35-year-old point guard was asked what was on his mind as he watches Booker take his turn in a three-point battle. Lillard hilariously admitted he was “praying” for the Suns star to “fall”.
“I was praying for him to go down,” Lillard claimed.

It seemingly worked, as Devin Booker was unable to top it 29 points by Damian Lillard in the championship round. The win was Lillard’s third career three-point contest. He joins Larry Bird and Craig Hodges as the only three players in league history to win the contest three times.
With the contest over, Lillard will likely return to nursing a torn Achilles tendon in preparation for the 2026-27 campaign. The nine-time All-Star is not expected to return at all this season, even if the Trail Blazers make the playoffs. Meanwhile, Portland will continue to rely on Danny Avdia and his young squad. The club is 9th in the Western Conference at the All-Star break.
Damian Lillard signed a three-year, $42 million contract with the Trail Blazers last offseason after being waived by the Milwaukee Bucks. His contract includes a no-trade clause, so there’s a chance Lillard ends his career in Portland. Over 13 years in the league, Lillard has career averages of 25.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game, along with 43.9% field goal percentage and 37.1% three-point percentage.
