Damian Lillard shows 3-point contest with Stephen Curry, others

On Saturday night, the NBA hosted some of its own All-Star weekend activities from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, home of the Clippers. Among them was the fight for three points, which was Portland Trail Blazers star point guard Damian Lillard wonwho defeated Devin Booker and Kon Knuepel in the final round of the competition.

It was the third three-pointer of his career for Lillard, who is currently sidelined with an Achilles injury but still wanted to participate in the contest and is now a former All-Star an overview of what the competition is it may look like in the 2027 season.

“Me, you, Klay, Book and 4 other real shooters,” Lillard wrote in a message to the Golden State Warriors star Stephen Currywhich he posted on social media (via Lillard’s Instagram account).

Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have had some legendary three-point battles with Lillard over the years, and Devin Booker has also thrown his name into that discussion in recent seasons, winning one three-point battle and nearly another on Saturday night before going down the stretch during the final round.

Meanwhile, the Blazers and their fans will be hoping that Lillard can continue to perform at an elite level on the court when he returns to action next year. Lillard rejoined the Portland franchise last offseason after being waived by the Milwaukee Bucks, and while he’s currently still recovering from an Achilles injury suffered during last year’s playoffs, he figures to provide some much-needed perimeter and shooting for a Blazers team that is on the rise in the Western Conference this year.

Blazers fans got to watch young star Danny Awdia play on the World Team in the All-Star Game on Sunday, and Portland will next take the floor Friday night against the Denver Nuggets.
