Dan Campbell’s microphone was “lit up” when Frank Ragnow returned

what does he say You can take the man out of the football, but you can’t take the football out of the man? That couldn’t be truer for Frank Ragnow, who surprisingly came out of retirement to rejoin Detroit Lions.

Ragnow hung up his dice in Juneciting the physical toll of the NFL and the need to spend more time with his family. He played seven seasons — all with the Lions — when he retired.

But he seemed to miss it so much that the veteran center decided to return after just four months.

What is that Michael Corleone quote from The Godfather? “Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in.”

As expected, the coach of the Lions Dan Campbell was pumped up for the return of 29-year-old Ragnov.

“Fired to get him back. He wants to play, he wants to be a part of it, he misses the game, he misses his teammates,” Campbell said, per The Athletic’s Colton Pouncey.

Detroit’s offensive line had more hits this season, including starting center Graham Glasgow, who is out with a knee injury. Ragnow’s return should bolster Campbell’s offensive strategy and fill holes.

The four-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro is expected to help stabilize the pocket as he is proficient in reading defensive schemes.

The Lions, who are currently 7-4, are looking to solidify their spot as the action heats up in the coming weeks with teams jockeying for playoff position.
