Daniel Gafford sat out the rest of the game with an ankle injury

After missing the last two games with a right ankle injury, Dallas Mavericks a great man Daniel Gafford is back in action for Wednesday’s game against the Miami Heat at the American Airlines Center.

However, he seemed to hurt him again, as did he fell into pain in the second half of the game in Miami.

“Daniel Gafford just came out of the game and headed to the locker room,” reported Joey Mistretta of ClutchPoints via a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Mistretta also shared a video featuring Gafford walking independently to the dressing room.

The Mavericks, who entered the game looking for their third straight win, later announced that Gafford done for the rest of the evening (h/t Mistretta).

Gafford had just two points with five rebounds and a steal in 14 minutes of action on the court before leaving the game. In the meeting with the Heat in the 2025-26 NBA season, he averaged 9.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists.

Hopefully for the Mavericks, Gafford’s injury won’t force him to miss any more time, especially with Dallas gaining momentum of late. That’s not to mention that the team’s frontcourt is already missing Derek Lively II, who has missed six straight games with a foot problem.

The good news for the Mavericks is that they were able to get the job done and finish off Miami in a 118-108 victory. Cooper Flagg led Dallas with 22 points on an efficient 9-for-13 shooting from the field, while Anthony Davis posted a double-double of 17 points and 17 points.

Dallas will take on an even tougher task next Friday when they face the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road.
