Danny Avdia’s extremely rare feat was lost in the loss to the Thunder


Danny Avdia he had a career night that unfortunately fell apart in Portland Trail Blazers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder match on Sunday night.

Avdia is going through the sixth season in his NBA career, the second with the Trail Blazers. Since coming over from Washington, he has blossomed into a star as he is currently the team’s leading scorer.

His performance against the best Thunder team in the league was another example of that. Avdija finished with 31 points, 19 rebounds, 10 assists and a steal in 37 minutes of action. He shot 6-of-14 from the field, including 0-of-4 from beyond the arc, and 19-of-23 from the free throw line.

Avdia made history with that stat lineaccording to ESPN Insights. He became the second player ever to score 30 or more points in his first four triple-doubles.

“Danny Avdia tonight became the second player in NBA history to score 30+ PTS in each of his first four career triple-doubles,” the post said.

Despite Danny Avdia’s historic effort, it wasn’t enough as the Trail Blazers lost 123-115 to the Thunder.

Portland was competing with Oklahoma City during the game. The hosts trailed by five before taking a one-point lead at half-time. However, the visitors responded by making big plays in the clutch to outscore Portland 38-28 in the fourth quarter.

Ball movement and inside scoring made the difference in this match. The Thunder dominated in both categories with 27 assists and scored 56 points. It wasn’t the same for the Trail Blazers as they dished out 22 assists and scored 36 points at the line.

Five players scored in double figures for Portland in the loss, including Avdia. Tumani Kamara had a solid performance of 19 points, eight rebounds and four assists. He shot 5-of-12 overall, including 5-of-10 from downtown and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. Jeremy Grant was next with 18 points and three blocks, Chris Murray had 13 points and six rebounds, while Caleb Love had 12 points and two steals.

Portland fell to an 8-12 record on the season, holding onto 10th place in the Western Conference standings. They are 1.5 games above the Utah Jazz and 2.5 games above the Dallas Mavericks while tied with the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Trail Blazers will look to bounce back in their next game as they are on the road. They face the Toronto Raptors on December 2nd at 7:30pm ET.
