Danny Avdija leaves the game against the Suns with a back injury

The Portland Trail Blazers he’ll have to take care of business the rest of the way against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night without NBA All-Star Danny Avdia.
Twenty-five-year-old Avdija saw just one minute of action before leaving the game with an apparent back problem.
The Trail Blazers later announced that done for the rest of the evening at the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix.
“INJURY UPDATE: Danny Avdia (lower back) will not return for tonight’s game at PHKS,” Portland shared via a social media post on X, formerly Twitter.
The troubling update about Avdia drew some interesting reactions from Portland fans.
“I literally shouldn’t have played. He was the last game in my pairing. He lost because he played 1 minute,” he said a fan.
“Rest Danny until he’s fully recovered,” a social media user common.

“Please just let him rest, we don’t want another star’s career to be ruined by an injury.” commented fan on X.
“Danny’s just cashing in the paychecks this year. Tired of carrying the whole fn team. Whose back wouldn’t hurt?” one more he said.
Avdia’s back bothered him in the 2025-26 NBA season, and it made him miss nine games already in this campaign. He was listed as questionable to face the Suns, but something clearly didn’t go right that led to his early exit from the contest. He looked good, however, in last Friday’s game against the Denver Nuggets at home, where he logged 30 minutes and scored 15 points with 13 assists.
