Dante Moore is delaying his NFL draft decision

Oregon football entered into College Football Playoff with an NFL draft distraction potentially hovers above. Dante Moore hears first-round chatter before facing Texas Tech. Talk of Moore’s potential grew after the pulverization of James Madison.

Still, Ducks fans will like Moore’s mindset, which includes draft talk. He revealed where his mental state is via Eric Skopil of 247Sports Tuesday.

“Obviously my moment right now is getting ready for the Orange Bowl. When it comes to the future, I don’t think about that much,” Moore said.

He’s more engaged in preparing for Jacob Rodriguez and the Red Raiders’ tough defense in the Orange Bowl. But then again, he soon has a future to deal with.

Are Dante Moore’s Oregon teammates pulling for him to come back?

Moore ignited this Ducks offense after Dillon Gabriel. The sophomore improved to 3,046 yards, 28 touchdowns, eight interceptions and an 81 KB rating under the head coach Dan Lanning.

Those kinds of numbers will attract NFL scouts. Oregon and Lanning have already produced two NFL talents in 2024 first-rounders Gabriel and Bo Nix — the latter leading the Denver Broncos to a 13-3 record before Week 18.

But will Moore’s Duck teammates convince him to return to Eugene?

“We all talk about it, but when it comes down to hanging around each other, thinking about the things that got us here, the 10 guys that hang out with me without them, I wouldn’t be where I am now. So I’m thankful for them,” Moore said.

Again, Moore downplayed the draft, but also decided whether to return for his junior campaign.

He’s not the only Ducks star pondering his future. Wide receiver Evan Stewart is another trying to decide between returning or going to prof. Moore won’t have Stewart to throw to, but will have Dakorien Moore and Gary Bryant Jr. down in Miami.
