Daulton Warshaw gets $10.75 million contract, avoids arbitration

The The Toronto Blue Jays were just one game away from winning the World Series. And now, the key forward is officially locked in for the 2026 season.
Outfielder Daulton Warshaw and the Blue Jays agreed to terms on a one-year, $10.75 million contract to avoid arbitrationvia Joel Sherman of the New York Post. He is set to become free agency after the 2026 season.
Originally came to the Blue Jays via a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He has now fully established himself as Toronto’s center fielder. His defense was world class, winning a Gold Glove during the 2024 season.
Throughout his three-year career with the Blue Jays, spanning 365 games, Warshaw hit .221 with 58 home runs, 174 RBIs and 28 stolen bases. He is coming off a 2025 campaign in which he hit .238 with 20 home runs, 55 RBI and a pair of steals.
Warshaw has at least 18 home runs and 50 RBIs dating back to his final season with the Diamondbacks in 2022. The Blue Jays will want to see him become more consistent from a batting average perspective. But they’ll be happy to take about 20 long balls a year with an elite center defense.
Toronto went all in after their World Series. They brought in pitchers Dylan Sis and Cody Pons in addition to third baseman Kazuma Okamoto. The Blue Jays are still tied to free agents like Bo Bichette and Kyle Tucker.
Finding Varsh’s contracts may have been a given in Toronto’s offseason plans. But now that that’s settled, the Blue Jays can focus on improving their roster however they can.
