Davion Mitchell’s status against the Nets is uncertain after downplaying another injury

As it is The Miami Heat are dealing with injuries ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets, one player whose status is up in the air is the point guard Davion Mitchell. After that The Heat’s win over the Houston Rockets, the team is looking to get more wins in the home part of the season, as Mitchell’s injury is something to keep an eye on as he spoke about his latest injury.

Mitchell is listed as “questionable” for Tuesday’s game against Brooklyn because he has a left shoulder contusion, which fans may be familiar with. The 27-year-old previously missed eight games in January with a left shoulder problem, suffering it this time when he went through a hard screen in Saturday’s win over the Rockets earlier in the game, though he finished the contest.

He will practice partially on Monday, saying that the current shoulder problem is not that serious like the one who missed the time in January.

“It’s not too bad,” Mitchell said, according to The Miami Herald. “Definitely a bit like the same pain. But definitely not as bad.”

The Heat’s Davion Mitchell on potentially changing a certain aspect

In Saturday’s win over Houston, Mitchell would post 10 points and five assists as he has been a mainstay in Miami’s starting lineup when healthy, averaging 8.9 points and 6.9 assists per game. In addition to his ability as a point guard, he is one of the team’s better defenders, although he was asked if he would be limited to running through screens due to shoulder injuries.

“I try to play the same way,” Mitchell said. “I’m trying not to change anything, I mean, honestly, he just got me. I’ve been going through screens for a few minutes now after that injury and I didn’t really mind. He just got me this time.”

It remains to be seen if Mitchell will play, as he said, “we’ll see” on the question after Monday’s practice. Either way, Miami looks to go on a winning streak as Tuesday’s home game against the Nets will be key for the 32-29 team, which puts them in eighth place in the East.
