DeMar DeRozan reveals why he slammed a water bottle on the ground

Say it is The Sacramento Kings were on the struggle bus lately would be an understatement, as the team has now lost 13 games in a row following Monday’s loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. The team recently shook things up at the NBA trade deadline for De’Andre Hunterbut is currently out of the lineup due to a freak eye injury.

At one point in Monday’s game in New Orleans, the Kings’ veteran guards DeMar DeRozan you could see him banging a water bottle on the ground in frustration on the bench, and after the game, DeRozan 100% understood how his emotions were running high at that moment.

“We’re not in the right spots, let it be a chain reaction, they’re getting back in transition, they’re getting easy shots, easy buckets, so (the water bottle incident) was just me wanting to play the right way, win, lose or tie,” DeRozan said, per Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee .

Kings coach Doug Christie was also candid about his reaction to the incident.

“I went down and sat down with him for a second just to talk to him. His frustration is primarily because he broke the slide and also after being so close it could have gone either way in so many games, it’s the first time in a minute we’ve had a score like this where we weren’t in the game,” Christie said.

Many predicted that the Kings would struggle this season due to their utterly bizarre roster structure, but few could have seen such an ugly defeat on the horizon.

With the team largely intact at the recent NBA trade deadline, fans have to wonder where Sacramento goes from here.

The team will look to end their losing streak on Wednesday against the Utah Jazz.
