DeMarcus Cousins doesn’t see LeBron James retiring to LA
Doc Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James still playing at a high level at 41, his age has naturally brought speculation about how long he can and will want to play in the NBA.
James remains one of the league’s elite players, although various injuries have slowed him down in the past few years. He said he would retire when he no longer enjoyed the process.
Many believe that the four-time MVP will ended his iconic career with the Lakerswith her son, Bronnie James, by her side. Former NBA star DeMarcus Cousinshowever, see differently.
“Do I feel like he’s done in L.A.? I don’t. Ububa tells me he’s done in Cleveland, and I think it just makes sense,” Cousins, who played briefly with James on the Lakers, said on “Run It Back.”
“That’s where his story starts, obviously, that’s where he’s from. I think it’s going to be the first team to hang up his jersey, so it makes sense.”
“Do I think he’s finishing his career in LA? No. I think he’s finishing his career in Cleveland.”

After his much-maligned move to the Miami Heat in 2010, James returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014 and gave the team its first championship in 2016. It was a fairytale reunion, and as Cousins said, it’s not a stretch that James could do it again before the sun goes down.
James, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, has always been proud to be an Akron kid. Playing his last game at Rocket Arena, located not far from his childhood home, would be poetic.
In the meantime, he’s busy focusing on the season, especially with the purple and gold having faltered recently. The Lakers dropped to sixth in the Western Conference with a 25-16 record, including 2-5 in their last seven games.
