Desmond Bain was fined $25,000 after throwing the ball into the stands

The Orlando Magic achieved an incredible victory of 110-109 over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday. Almost immediately after the victory, Desmond Bane was seen throwing the game ball into the stands. As Orlando prepares to play against the Houston Rockets on Thursday, the league announced it is punishing Bain for his actions.
Reports indicate that the NBA fining the 27-year-old winger $25,000 for throwing the ball into the stands, according to NBA communications. That’s the typical amount players are fined for that offense.
“Orlando Magic guard Desmond Bain has been fined $25,000 for violently throwing the ball into the stands, James Jones, executive vice president, head of basketball operations, announced today. The incident occurred at the end of the Magic’s 110-109 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on February 2.
Bane will probably pay the fine and move on, which is usually how most fines work. The six-year veteran was a key factor in Tuesday’s win over the Lakers, finishing with 22 points, one rebound, six assists and a steal while shooting 47.3% from the field and 25.0% from the three-point line.
Desmond Bain is only suspended and will be available Thursday’s contest against the Rockets. He is expected to play a key role again for the Magic as Orlando looks for its third straight win. With the club in seventh place in the Eastern Conference, continuing the winning streak would be huge. Especially if the Magic somehow manage to get the sixth seed and avoid the play-in tournament.
