Devin Booker’s truth bomb about losing the game-winner battle to Kevin Durant

When idols become your rivals. That could be a good feeling for Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker and Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant.
The two were teammates for two and a half seasons before Phoenix traded Durant in a massive trade that netted them Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green and the 10th pick. (Khaman Maluach) and a host of second round draft picks.
After hitting the game winner, After the game, Durant talked about how the Suns made him a scapegoat. Regardless of the blow to his former team, Booker is still there has all the thanks for the latter and what he did for him.
“It’s always a pleasure. He did so much for this game. He did so much for me personally,” Booker said after the game, via AZCentral’s Duane Rankin.
“Any opportunity to be there with one of my idols, with someone I have a lot of respect for, there’s nothing like it. That’s all you can ask for.”
Devin Booker and Kevin Durant face each other for the first time since 2023
The last time these two played against each other was on February 7, 2023, when the Suns beat the Brooklyn Nets 116-112. Durant did not play in that game, but was later traded to Phoenix one of the biggest mid-season trades in history.
Still, skeptics will say the Suns didn’t do enough with him there. Durant’s production was as good as ever, but the team only won six playoff games during that span.
Injuries complicated things, but it never seemed to work. From the previous trade, The Suns and Rockets won the Durant trade. They each have their own identities and styles they want to play with.
Regardless, Phoenix was a pleasant surprise, while Houston was a literal giant of the Western Conference. The next time these two will face off is in the Valley of the Sun.
Even if the Suns faithful have a mixed reaction to Durant’s return, Booker will always have the same reverence and respect.
