Diego Pavia’s absence after the game causes confusion

Number 17 The Vanderbilt Commodores earned a big 31-24 win in Week 8 over the No. 10 LSU Tigers on Saturday. It was a strong outing for a program that relied on the shoulders of quarterback Diego Pavia. However, after the contest, it turned out that Pavia was not available for any postgame interviews, causing mass confusion in the college football world.
Reports indicate that the only explanation Vanderbilt gave for why the redshirt senior was unable to attend any postgame interviews was simple because he is not able toaccording to Pete Nakos of On3 Sports. The reason why he is unable to be available to the media remains unknown.
“Diego Pavia is not doing interviews after the game. According to Vandy’s communications, ‘He is not able’.”
Members of the media and fans took to social media, wondering what was going on with Diego Pavia. Especially considering he just led the Commodores to a huge win over a Top 10 opponent in the SEC.
“Uhh. What does that mean?” one fan asked.
Another user declared“What does he think he is? Lmao.”
“Please translate this for me like I’m young and hip,” one individual joked.
Amanda Kristovich of Front Office Sports mused: “No Diego Pavia for the media after the game today?”
“Is he going to Broadway early or is he charging a speaking fee now? He’s big now,” he said another sports fan.
Diego Pavia was electric for Vanderbilt since taking over as the starting quarterback in 2024-25. He proved to be a difference maker Saturday against LSU after recording 160 passing yards, 86 rushing yards and three total touchdowns (two rushing). Pavia also finished the day with a completion percentage of 63.6%.
