Dillon Brooks’ injury timetable revealed after broken hand

The Phoenix Suns got some bad news last week when it was revealed Dillon Brooks suffered a hand injury and did not yet have a timeline for his potential return to court. On Monday, after a medical staff meeting, it was announced that Brooks would have a recovery time frame from about four to six weeks while he recovers from an arm injury, according to Shams Charani.
Dillon Brooks suffered a hand injury during the Suns’ win against the Orlando Magic on Saturday. He played just seven minutes before he had to leave the game. He finished with five points and three rebounds.
The Suns recently welcomed back Jalen Green to the lineup after he was sidelined for much of the first half of the season with a hamstring injury. But losing Brooks for an extended period of time is a major blow to a team trying to keep pace in a crowded Western Conference playoff picture.
The Suns are currently 33-25 and in seventh place in the West. They are two games behind the 6th seed Minnesota Timberwolves and can avoid the playoffs entirely.
Brooks is in his first season with the Suns after being acquired as part of a multi-team blockbuster deal involving Kevin Durant in the offseason. So far it has exerted an inestimable influence on the court.
Brooks has appeared in 50 of the Suns’ 58 games so far, all starts, averaging just over 30 minutes per game. He averaged a career-high 20.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals on 44 percent shooting from the field, 34.3 percent from the 3-point line and 85.6 percent from the free throw line.
