Dillon Brooks responds to Charles Barkley’s All-Star comments

SCOTTSDALE – When Charles Barkley comments about you, you usually hear. That was exactly the case for Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks.

As Barkley said Brooks should be an All-Star for the Sunsit was a statement of pure intent. The latter is having a career year in the Valley of the Sun and appears to be scratching the surface.

After Thursday’s shootout, Brooks answered to the comments of the Phoenix legend and he understood everything correctly.

“It was great,” Brooks said. “I love watching that basketball segment with Shaq, Charles and Kenny. They’re funny, they’re fun, they draw people in.”

“Even a legend, a Hall of Famer. It’s good for him to see my name and see the hard work pay off now.”

He is averaging nearly 21 points per game and has been a catalyst in many ways. Whether he’s on the floor, taking over a game or getting under the opposing team’s skin, Brooks is true to who he is.

Charles Barkley isn’t exaggerating about Dillon Brooks being a star

Barclay’s point is more than valid, especially considering where the Suns are projected to be. At first some said yes he wouldn’t even eclipse 30 winsand they’re close to reaching that number with the All-Star Game just around the corner.

But still, Phoenix’s injuries did not make life easy for anyone. As a result, guys love it Brooks had to rise to the occasion and perform with high expectations.

Everyone knew who he was, and still does. But he has made it a mission to improve his offensive game and become a well-rounded offensive option at three scoring levels.

Whether Brooks is an all-star or not, his mission is to change the culture of the team, and he has done just that. Guys like Barkley could be the first domino to fall on outsiders realizing how Brooks has improved his game.
