Doc Rivers gives key update on Giannis injury after Pistons win

Doc Rivers he gave Milwaukee Bucks some are in desperate need of good news after a very stressful night. Giannis Antetokounmpo fell to the floor less than three minutes after the Milwaukee Bucks’ comeback victory of 113-109 Detroit Pistonsclutching his right leg after trying to get back on defense.
The Bucks later called it the strain of the right calf, and Antetokounmpo never returned after posting two points, one rebound and one assist in his short stint. After the game, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers told reporters he thought the team had ruled out the worst-case scenario.
“Doc Rivers tells reporters he thinks the Bucks have ruled out an Achilles injury for Giannis Antetokounmpo,” beat writer Eric Nehm said on X, facilitating the biggest fear for everyone in Milwaukee.
Even without their superstar, The Bucks fought back. Kevin Porter Jr. lost 26 points and seven assists, Ryan Rollins added 22 points and eight dinars, and AJ Green buried five 3-pointers en route to 19 points as Milwaukee erased an 18-point deficit in front of a nervous Fiserv Forum crowd via ESPN Box Score. Jericho Sims had a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds, while Bobby Portis scored 13 points in the second half.
This isn’t Giannis Antetokounmpo’s first scare of the season. He has already missed time with a strained left groin and returned only recently, trying to calm a Bucks team that stumbled out of the gate.
All this takes place against a wild backdrop. Earlier in the day, ESPN reported that Antetokounmpo and his agentAlex Saratzis, are discussing their long-term future with the Bucks. The rivers receded strongly to any idea Giannis wants out, insisting before the game that there have been “no talks” about a trade and that his star still loves Milwaukee.
For now, calf strain and the upcoming picture will dictate everything. The Bucks escaped with the win and bypassed the Achilles nightmare. How long they have to live without Giannis Antetokounmpo is the next, much bigger question.
