Doc Rivers’ injury news on Giannis’ injury entices fans to return

Milwaukee The Bucks entered the battle without Giannis Antetokounmpo for some time now, while still trying to recover from a right calf strain. There should be some optimism upon his return, as he was seen working out during the pregame, but he likely still has some benchmarks to meet before he is cleared to return to the field.

Head coach Doc Rivers recently gave an update on Antetokounmpo, and it sounds like he is he could get closer.

“No. He’s done some 3-on-3, 4-on-4. We don’t really have to go 5-on-5. He doesn’t go 3-on-4-on-5. Usually 4-on-4 is pretty good … No downtime,” Rivers said, via the Athletics’ Erie Nemo.

Antetokounmpo has been dealing with calf strains over the past few seasons, so he probably knows the process of what needs to happen to get him back. There’s also no doubt he’s itching to get back so he can help his teammates as he wants a chance to make the playoffs in the second half of the season.

Without Antetokounmpo, the Bucks have won several games and are getting contributions from several players. One of them is Cam Thomas, who they signed before the All-Star break.

They recently managed to beat the Miami Heat, led by Kevin Porter Jr., who finished with 32 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

The Bucks will need a lot of wins to climb the standings for a possible playoff spot, but with Antetokounmpo, they could have a good chance to do so. The only thing is that they have to hope that the teams above them start losing, which can be a tall order.

As of now, they can only focus on what they can control and hope to get their star player back sooner rather than later.
