Donovan Mitchell disgusts the Pacers

Donovan Mitchell

Mission accomplished for Cavalierswho push Indiana to bounce back from their home loss against the Rockets. The Pacers were tougher than expected, but Cleveland handled its business pretty well, relying on the Garland-Mobley tandem in the first half before letting a determined Dononvan Mitchell finish after the break with 20 of his 32 points.

Andrew Nembhard multiplied his exploits at the beginning of the match to keep Indiana in the game (33-31), and the Mathurin-Siakam duo held up quite well until the break, despite the heat of Darius Garland, the author of 18 of his 20 points in the first half. The latter thus concluded the second act with a new 3-point arrow and brought his team to +7 (62-55).

The Pacers are not keeping up

Because of that, we had to wait for Donovan Mitchell to wake up, as he often does in the third quarter, to make the difference. The All-Star guard chained baskets like pearls with 13 points in the third quarter, and also assists for Dean Wade or Evan Mobley’s 2+1 at the end of the period (100-81).

The Pacers still managed to put the pressure back on Cleveland with a 14-0 run to get back to within 103-95, but the men’s response didn’t take long. After two baskets by De’Andre Hunter, Donovan Mitchell hit the target with a 3-pointer for the last time, before Evan Mobley and De’Andre Hunter again imitated him to seal the final victory (120-109).

WHAT TO REMEMBER.

A winning return for Darius Garland. The leader of the Cavs showed that he is back to 100% after ten days of rest. Convincing first half, and perhaps a physical counter strike was felt. A basket in the finals to calm everyone, 20 points, 7 assists and a win at the end, it’s all good for Darius Garland.

De’Andre Hunter as X Factor. The perfect complement to the trio of Garland-Mitchell-Mobley, he made up for the absence of Jarrett Allen in his own style, and ended up with two baskets to end the Pacers’ 14-0 lead.

Andrew Nembhard confirms. These Pacers definitely have the resources and even if they are not often rewarded for their efforts, Rick Carlisle’s men do not hang their heads, as was the case again last night. Alongside Benedikt Maturin and Pascal Siakam, Andrew Nembhardt stands out more and more, this time with a career-high 32 points, fueled by a near-perfect start.
