Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley lead injury report for Cavs vs. Heat

The Cleveland Cavaliers will not have Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, Darius Garland or Jaylon Tyson for Wednesday night’s rematch with the Miami Heat at Kaseya Center. Those four will join Max Struss on the sidelines, but only two are injured.
Mitchell and Mobley were held for rest, Doc Garland has a major injury to his left finger that he aggravated on Monday. Despite playing 31 minutes in Game 1, Jaylon Tyson suffered a concussion after falling backwards into teammate Sam Merrill’s knee.
Cavs head coach Kenny Atkinson is clearly erring on the side of caution as usual. Cleveland and Miami went into overtime in a 140-138 affairwhere Mitchell recorded a game-high 41 minutes with Mobley right behind him on 39. Seeing Garland leave the game early and not being able to continue could also factor into this decision for the rematch.
All three of Cleveland’s contract players – Luke Travers, Nae’Quan Tomlin and Chris Livingston – will be active. Larry Nance Jr.’s status remains questionable with a left knee contusion.
The Cavs will look to everyone to step up in the absence of their core players. Jarrett Allen is the only member of the Core Four who will be on the court. De’Andre Hunter should be the main threat for the Wine and Gold, along with Merrill. Other contributors, such as Lonzo Ball, Craig Porter Jr., Dean Wade and rookie Tirese Proctor, will need to be ready to provide additional help. We’ll probably see Thomas Bryant running as well.
Meanwhile, the Heat plan to match their guys who have played as much as Cleveland’s. Although Jaime Jaquez Jr., Davion Mitchell, Kel’el Ware and Drew Smith are dealing with nagging injuries, all are listed as available on the injury report. Bam Adebayo and Tyler Hero remain sidelined with sprained left big toes and recovering from left ankle surgery.
