Draymond Green against the Timberwolves for the birth of a child
The Golden State Warriors will face the Minnesota Timberwolves, and they will be without their best defender. It won’t be due to injury, which is good news, like Draymond Green will ask to welcome his newborn with his wife. Zeleni hinted at the possibility that he missed some games a week ago, after being asked about the opportunity.
“It’s awful. Pretty s****o to be honest,” Green said. “But regardless, this is my job. I love doing my job. But it’s horrible to be honest,” Green said. “However, it’s not the first time I’ve been in this position. But my wife is doing a great job. She’s strong. I’ll do everything I can to come back here if I have to.”
It’s understandable why Green will be missing for a whilebut it is uncertain how much time he will miss. Luka Doncic was the latest NBA player to miss time while he and his wife welcomed their second daughter.
Green will really be missed as he sets the tone for the Warriors, and against a team like the Timberwolves, he will be needed. The two teams have a history with each other, most recently in the postseason when they met in the second round. The Timberwolves won that game, as Stephen Curry was sidelined for most of the series with a hamstring injury.
Julius Randle made it difficult for the Warriors in that series, and Green was the main defender.
Even though it’s only a regular season game, the Warriors will need to target more bodies if they want to contain him. At the same time, they still have to worry about Anthony Edwards, who could get hot at any moment.
Fortunately for the Warriors, they will be getting a boost on offense Stephen Curry will be back from injury.
