Draymond Green agrees with Steve Kerr that the team is a fading dynasty
Draymond Green he did not deny the notion that Steve Kerr made by the current core of the Golden State Warriors to be a “fading dynasty”.
Golden State stands out as the NBA’s newest dynasty. They won four championships from 2015 to 2022, seeing the core of Green, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson dominate teams during their time alongside Kerr as head coach.
However, the success hasn’t been the same since their last title run in 2022. Thompson has since left and the Warriors have added Jimmy Butler III as the third star of Golden State’s current trio.
Green addressed Kerr’s recent comments about the Warriors fading as a dynasty during the Dec. 29 episode of The Draymond Green Show. While he is agreed with the idea team fading because of their aging, he noted that Kerr didn’t say Golden State completely faded as one.
“I know a lot has been said this week about Steve’s comments about us being a dwindling dynasty. And you know, there could be a lot of emotions when you read a statement like that or hear a statement like that. And for me, I’m trying to process them. And when you get down to it, the reality is that it’s true. Dynasties don’t last forever as much as you can work on them is what you try to do. as much as you can, but that’s the truth,” Green said at 1:35 p.m.
“Now, he didn’t say we’re a fading dynasty. He said we’re a fading dynasty. Guess what? Steph Curry is in ’17. I’m in ’14. Klay Thompson, who’s gone, would’ve been in ’15. When you talk about a dynasty, Steve ’12 started with us. Bob Myers has been gone for a while, so everybody knows he’s not throwing his salt around.
What’s next for Draymond Green, Warriors

It’s clear that Draymond Green still believes in the Warriors’ chances to compete for chances despite their core continuing to age. However, it will take a lot for them to ignite a huge run for the core to get one last championship under their belt.
Golden State has a 16-16 record on the season, holding the eighth spot in the Western Conference standings. They are one game ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies and three games ahead of the Portland Trail Blazers while trailing the Phoenix Suns by 2.5 games and the Minnesota Timberwolves by four games.
Following a matchup against the Brooklyn Nets on December 29th at 7:30pm ET, the Warriors will prepare for their next road contest. They face the Charlotte Hornets on December 31st at 1:00 PM ET.
