Draymond Green drops Stephen Curry’s hilarious 3-pointer

Draymond Green was never one for shies away from the spotlightand he certainly didn’t let a short Saturday night at the Cripto.com Arena stop him from delivering quote of the year. With Golden State Warriors facing the Los Angeles Lakers, the veteran forward found himself in a high-stakes moment that usually belongs to his teammate, Stephen Curry.

During a tight sequence in the second half, Green found himself on the perimeter and was shut down by none other than LeBron James. Instead of looking for a pass, Green drilled a contested 3-pointer right in James’ face. While on for the national broadcast, Green immediately turned to the Lakers bench and issued a hilarious warning. “You better lock me up like I’m Steph Curry,” Green yelled, leaving the the internet in stitches.

The moment provided some much-needed levity in a game that was missing its biggest stars. Stephen Curry sat out with a knee injurywhile the Lakers had to navigate the contest without Luka Doncic, who was sidelined with a hamstring strain. In their absence, Green has taken it upon himself to provide the offensive spark and fun.

Despite his career 30.7 percent from deep, Green has found a stroke of late. In this match, he recorded nine points, four rebounds and six assists, proving that he can still affect the game in every aspect.

On the other side, LeBron James led the Lakers with 20 points, and the Lakers relied on a balanced attack that saw Jared Vanderbilt and newest player Luke Kennard in key segments.

The Warriors are currently struggling to climb the Western Conference standings, sitting in eighth place at 28-25. Meanwhile, the Lakers continue to hang on to the fifth spot, hoping to keep their momentum going until their Slovenian superstar returns.
