Draymond Green reveals his desire to be NBA commissioner

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green he never voiced an opinion he didn’t like. Green is probably the most open player in the NBAsometimes even to a fault, and he makes no apologies for it.

But he is not just hot air. Many consider him a smart guy. Green has a clear perspective on thingsalthough sometimes controversial. At the very least, it gets people into the discussion, which is always good for the NBA.

Sports commentator Skip Bayless asked Green if he wanted to be NBA commissioner one day, noting that the veteran forward has “the right mind” and can “help this league in a leadership position.” Green gave clear answer.

“I would love to. I always want to see this league grow. I’ve had a lot of hiccups in my time in this league, but I’m hopeful, and I think I’ve done more good than bad,” the four-time All-Star said on his podcast.

As he mentioned, the 35-year-old Green had trouble with the league because of his bubbly personality. He was suspended six times by the NBA and paid over a million dollars in fines.

That makes it hard to envision him becoming the first player to become an NBA commissioner, even though he understands the nuances of the league and the players’ mindset.

Meanwhile, sports commentators Bill Simmons and Michael Kay recently called out NBA commissioner Adam Silver for leadership issues. Simmons said he’s not sure if Silver is the right guy to lead the NBA, while Kay said Silver should take a tougher approach.
