Draymond Green reveals what he “appreciates” about Cooper Flagg

On Thursday afternoon, The Golden State Warriors will score home floor for the Christmas Day game against the Dallas Mavericks. The fact that the Warriors are still able to secure Christmas games year in and year out despite a long absence from the Championship is a true testament to the star power of Stephen Curry, who has been on fire for the Dubs in recent weeks.
Curry’s teammate Draymond Green was made headlines this week for all the wrong reasons, as he got into an altercation with head coach Steve Kerr during a recent home game against the Orlando Magic. Come Christmas, Green will have his hands full trying to stop the Mavericks’ No. 1 overall draft pick Cooper Flaggwho had a great start to his NBA career.
Recently, Green spoke to his admiration for Flagg at this early stage in his career.
“One thing I can appreciate about him is that he does it on both ends of the floor. … Dallas has a bright future with Cooper Flagg,” Green said during an appearance on ESPN’s “Inside the NBA” before games began Thursday.
Flagg has really shown all the potential that Mavericks fans were so excited about as a lottery pick last year, with the ability to get into the lane with the best of them, pass at a solid level, and also block shots around the rim on defense. As Flegg’s outside jumper continues to improve, he will find it increasingly difficult to guard for opposing defenses.
Green remains one of the best defenders in the NBA even at his current age, so it will be interesting to see who wins the battle of youth and experience between him and Flagg on Thursday.
The Mavericks and Warriors are scheduled to tip off at 5:00 PM ET.
