Duncan Robinson called out during the Hornets’ scrimmage

Monday night in the NBA was a busy one that featured two different feuds. Perhaps the most significant was fight between Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets when four players are ejected from the game. The league’s official punishment hasn’t come down yet, but after that, the Pistons wing Duncan Robinson is being called out for his role, or lack thereof, in the fight with the Hornets.
During a new episode of FanDuel TV’s ‘Run It Back,’ former NBA player Lou Williams asked what Duncan Robinson was doing because he was seemingly caught on camera and videotaped. departing from the fight while it was still going on.
“The only person I’m mad at is Duncan Robinson,” Williams said. “The optics are bad, Duncan Robinson. Look, if there’s ever a time when your teammates act like they don’t trust you, you’ve earned it…you’ve got to at least go out there and grab a teammate, do something. You can’t turn your back on guys when they’re fighting.”
The incident occurred in the third quarter when Moussa Diabate fouled Jalen Duren. Words were exchanged, and then chaos ensued. after all, Diabate, Duren, Miles Bridges and Isaiah Stewart were ejected. Bridges escalated the argument, while Stewart did so well after leaving the bench.
In Robinson’s case, he was the Pistons’ major offseason acquisition. Lou Williams’ thoughts on the fight aside, Robinson has been a key part of the team’s success this year. He appeared in 50 games, all starts, with just over 28 minutes per game. He is averaging 12.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists on 44 percent shooting from the field, 40.1 percent from the 3-point line and 73.9 percent from the free throw line.
The Pistons’ next game is on Wednesday, February 11 against the Toronto Raptors, while the Hornets’ next game is the same day against the Houston Rockets. It will be interesting to see if the NBA issues fines and possible suspensions by then.
