Dunk Contest 2026 | Cashad Johnson, winner of the sad contest

After a hat-trick of Mac McClungthe slam dunk contest got a makeover this season with four new entrants. Lakers center Jackson Hayes, Spurs rookie Carter Bryant, son of Jason Richardson and Orlando rookie Jace Richardson, and Heat wing Keshad Johnson.
To judge the contest, the NBA invited four dunk contest legends (Dr. Jay, Dominique Wilkins, Dwight Howard and Brent Barry) and a Clippers veteran (Corey Meggett).
Carter Bryant and Cashad Johnson dominate the first round
The first round leaves the Intuit Dome wanting more. Jackson Hayes disappointed, Jace Richardson got a scare when he fell on his second dunk. Both were eliminated.
Carter Bryant with a nod to Vince Carter during his first dunk and a mighty windmill during his second dunk gets the highest first round total.
He will face entertainer Keshad Johnson in the finals. The Heat winger, originally from Oakland, plays and dunks over rapper E-40 while breaking Karl Malone. He secures his second dunk and easily reaches the final.
Cashad Johnson by default
The final begins with a duel of riders. Cashad Johnson breaks it up as he goes under the circle, while Carter Bryant goes up high to recover the ball and look the circle right in the eye. Spur gets the first 50 in the contest, with the Heat player following with 49.6.
Cashad Johnson gives us an unexpected result by starting inside the free throw line and scoring only 47.8 points. Carter Bryant then has a clear path to win this contest. Instead of finishing in style, he missed three passes on the board and had to make up for it by doing a 360, which brought him a paltry 43. Not enough to write his name in history
Keshad Johnson is therefore the new dunk king in one of the poorest contests in history.
