Dwiane Wade makes a Pro Bowl suggestion for the All-Star Game

Recently, the The NBA All-Star game was held at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, home of the Clippers. The game received better reviews this year than previous seasons, with the players seeming to put at least some effort into the new USA vs. World format, with the USA junior team winning the round-robin tournament and Anthony Edwards won the MVP.
However, the league is apparently still open to suggestions on how to improve the event in the future, most recently an NBA legend Dwiane Wade presented an intriguing idea for the future of the game.
“I don’t think we need to stop and play the (NBA) All-Star Game in the middle of the season anymore. … I look at it like the Pro Bowl. … The All-Star Game should be a journey … an experience for the people who do it,” Wade said, per the Wee Network by Dwiana Wada on X, formerly Twitter.
Indeed, the NFL Pro Bowl game takes place after the regular season and the first three rounds of the playoffs have already been completed, which in theory could draw more attention to it.
However, even that game has been the subject of huge criticism, with the league recently changing its format to tag football, and with a large number of stars not participating in the event each year, so it may not be the best reference point for improving the NBA version of the game.
This year, San Antonio Spurs young star Victor Wembanyama set the tone early in the All-Star Game with his effort level, and most of the other players seemed to follow suit, resulting in three straight games that went down to the wire, before the finals quickly turned into a rout.
Overall, while it wasn’t perfect, it was certainly a step in the right direction for the NBA All-Star festivities.
