Dwiane Wade questions Bama Adebayo’s claim that he is “better than the playing team”.

NBA Hall of Fame Dwiane Wade publicly questioned Bam Adebayo’s recent claim that the Miami Heat are better than the team playing in the game ahead of Saturday’s game against the Houston Rockets.
Speaking during Prime Video’s pregame broadcast as Miami opened a three-game homestand, Wade addressed Adebayo’s comments following the Heat’s recent loss.
“The same thing I asked Bam… Are you? That was my voicemail to Bam.”
Wade went on to emphasize that results ultimately determine where a team sits in the pecking order.
“Because men lie, women lie, numbers don’t. But I will say this, on Bam’s point that came back to me was — I think his disbelief, and probably the team’s disbelief comes from them being first in scoring, best in scoring, best in defense, so all the numbers are there. Now they have three guys with (Norman Powell) who were (Norman Powell, all) guys that have talent there as well, so I believe that’s where the disbelief comes from.
Miami enters the contest at 31-29, ranked eighth in the Eastern Conference standings. The Heat are looking to snap a two-game losing streak after a A 124-117 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night. They trail Philadelphia (33-26) by 2.5 games for the sixth seed, the final guaranteed playoff spot that avoids the playoff game. Miami has participated in the playoffs in each of the past two seasons.

Dwiane Wade questions the Heat as Bam Adebayo expresses frustration
After Thursday’s loss, Adebayo expressed his frustration with the team’s current position on the table.
“Yeah, I don’t want to be in this shit anymore. We’re better than we’ve been in the game in the last 4 years.”
“Let’s see if we can put some V’s together.”
Statistically, Miami ranks second in the NBA with 119.9 points per game, trailing only the Denver Nuggets (120.5). However, the Heat rank 20th in points allowed, surrendering 117.2 per game, highlighting defensive inconsistencies.
Wade’s remarks reflect the tension between potential and production. While Miami boasts multiple All-Star caliber players and elite offensive metrics, its record puts the team in playoff territory. As the regular season enters its final stretch, the Heat face increasing urgency to turn strong statistical numbers into wins if they intend to avoid another playoff appearance.
